LONDON TO AUSTRALIA SERVICE United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received December 18, 11.30 p.m.) SYDNEY, December 18. It is expected that the first air mail from London will be available in Sydney next Friday. Special efforts are being made to connect with the Monowai, which is sailing at noon on that day, with the New Zealand portion of the mail particularly the Duke of Gloucester’s. The aeroplanes with the mails are due at Darwin at 6.30 to-night and two Quantas machines are awaiting their arrival to hurry them southward. MISHAP IN NEW GUINEA SERVICE ’PLANE CRASHES IN JUNGLE United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received December 18, 10 p.m.) MELBOURNE, December 18 A message from Rabaul states that a New Guinea service aeroplane crashed in the jungle betwen Salamoa and Wau. The wreckage has been located from the air, but it is not known whether Pilot Crisp, the only occupant has been injured. A ground party is now searching.
