SOUTH CANTERBURY ' ASSOCIATION

A meeting of the Management Committee of the South Canterbury Cricket Association was held last evening. Present —Messrs A. E. Lawrence (chairman), R. C. M. Sunley, G. Powell, W. W. Grant, W. H. Tubb, A. E. Fawcett. D. B. Murchison and M. J. Angland (hon. secretary). Messrs R. G. Wilson and G. J. Walker were granted leave of absence until January 29.

The Albury Club wrote accepting a match with the third grade representative team on Boxing Day. It was decided to play the game at the Caledonian Ground, commencing at 11 a.m. The North Otago Association wrote advising that December 26 was not suitable for the annual representative match. It was decided to suggest Fefruary 2, at Oamaru for a colts’ match.

The Ashburton Association wrote accepting February 2 for the annual first, second and third grade representative matches at Ashburton. Ths Canterbury Association wrote confiijjiing the match, South Canterbury ' and Canterbury B. at Christchurch, on December 28 and 29. The Kia Ora Club (Christchurch) wrote confirming December 26 and 27 for a match with the South Canterbury second grade representative team. It was decided to play the game at Anzac Park, commencing each day at 11 a.m. Mr W. Grant was appointed manager of the South Canterbury team. The chairman extended to the members the compliments of the season. Mr W. Grant reciprocated on behalf of the Committee. COLLEGES AT PLAY By Telegraph—Press Association DUNEDIN, December 18. The last ball of the match decided the result of the game between McGlashan College and St. Kevin’s College (Oamaru). McGlashan scored 205 and 265 (T. Fraser 107) setting St. Kevins, who scored 121 in the first innings. 350 to make to win. St. Kevins scored 330 (Elgan 77, Kean 95). The last wicket was captured with the last ball of the last over, McGlashan winning by 19 runs.
