GREAT MOTOR RACE
PROMOTED BY SOUTH AFRICAN MINING MAGNATE United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, November 18. “The Despatch” says that Sir Abe Bailey has agreed to back the greatest motor car race in history on the occasion of the Johannesburg Jubilee in 1936. The course will be Algiers to Johannesburg, 8139 miles, the winner to receive £IO,OOO. Sir Abe Bailey said he rejected the request to support an air race similar to the Melbourne race.
