Present the president (Dr T. W. Wylie), Messrs O. Veitch, G. Bird, F. R. G. Aitken, W. B. Duff, M. Leonard, S. J. Blair and R Murphy. The president welcomed the new members of the committee, Messrs Aitken and Duff representing High School and Glenavy. The substitution of Glenavy for 3t. Patrick’s H the C grade competition was confirmed. The North Otago Association wrote approving the Sub-Association’s nvo-

posal that half the Waimate Club’s annual levy be paid through the SubAssociation, which should be levied foxsubscription to the New Zealand Association on behalf of the club’s membership. The Waimate Club wrote agreeing, in the case of a special levy by the Sub-Association on affiliated clubs, to pay on two-thirds of its membership, the club was granted representation on the Sub-Association on the came basis as other clubs. The arrangement was agreed to. North Otago also advised that December 1 would be suitable for a representative game in Waimate, and that the Oamaru Club’s courts would be available on December 13 for a represeneative game between rhe Waihao and Southern Sub-Associations. It was decided to issue a challenge to Southern for a match on December 13 at Oamaru. In regard to the match with North Otago on December Ist, it was decided to ask the Waimate Club for r,he use of its courts. The question of the annual tournament, usually held before Christmas, was discussed, and it was resolved to hold the doubles tourney about the third Thursday in January. It was considered this date would be as suitable to country players as a preChristmas date. In connection with the annual melting’s recommendation that singles competitions be included in the annual tournament, it was agi-eed that a combined singles and doubles tournament could not be held in one day, and the question of holding a separate singles championship was held over for later discussion. John R. Procter, Ltd., the Premier Opticians, Christchurch, will be making their next professional visit to Waimate, early in the New Year, when they may be consulted on all defects of the eyesight at the Royal Hotel. ....
