DEATHS BY ACCIDENT
VARIED FORMS OF FATAL MISHAPS United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, October 25. Though 200.000 persons are annually killed and injured in street accidents in Britain, there is apparently no guarantee of safety aloft. William Chatterton (50) dropped 160 feet from a scaffolding surrounding Big Ben, for the purpose of repairing the tower. Two Parisian workmen repairing the passenger lift of the upper storey of the Eiffel Tower, decided to rest. They entered a hut built in the structure, lit a brazier, shut the door, and suffocated themselves. Their workmates discovered the bodies next morning, but could not bring them down until the repairs to the lift were completed.
