FAIRLIE
PRESENTATION. Before departing from Fairlie, Mr J. S. Roberts, who had been stationmaster for the past three years, was met in the Council Chambers, and on behalf of the business men, was made the recipient of a small present as a parting gift. Mr C. J. Talbot, in making the presentation, referred to the good qualities of Mr Roberts. He was a very efficient stationmaster and his help and courtesy to the public had made him much liked by all who had dealings with the railway. Others present expressed their regret at Mr Roberts’ departure, and wished him success in his future. / Mr Roberts, in reply, expressed his thanks for the gift and for the expressions of goodwill.
