WEDDING

EVANS—LENSEY 'i lir wedding was celebrated at St. l , i«iil , /i Presbyterian Church Christrliureh, of Doris Jeanne Lensey, Ohl'lnl.church, and Athol Douglas elder son of Mr and Mrs A. E. Evans of Tlinii.ru. The Rev. Alan Watson officiitled and Mr Lilly was at the organ. Mr 1,. Travers sang “My Prayer.” The church was beautifully decorated with spring blossoms by friends of the bride. The bride who was escorted by an old friend, Mr F. A. Rushen, wore a frock of otterman silk the panelled skirt flaring to the ground. The high neck line of the cape yoke was finished with a brilliant clip and small self buttons defined the waist-line at the back. Her embroidered tulle veil, which formed a train, was held in place by strands of orange blossom. She carried a shower bouquet of orchids and freesias. The bridesmaids, Miss Bernice Lensey sister of the bride and Miss Mona Caldwell, wore tight-fitting frocks of lemon and green needle-run lace respectively, with godets of frilled net edged with silver flaring from the knee. Frilled net formed the puffed sleeves. They wore head-bands of narcissi and maidenhair fern, and carried bouquets of spring flowers. On leaving the church the bride was presented with a horse-shoe by her little nephew. Maurice Shade. Mr Douglas Gemmell (Christchurch) was best man and Mr Allister Evans (Dunedin) groomsman. After the ceremony a reception was held at the Melody Lane Cafe, where the bride’s mother reecived the guests wearing a navy ensemble with navy straw hat trimmed with navy and white ribbon. She carried a posy of red carnations. The bridegroom’s mother wore a becoming frock of oetunia pebble crepe relieved with beiee lace with hat to match. When the happy couple left for the north the bride wore a bottle green ensemble of crepe de chene and grey picture hat.
