INCREASED SHIPBUILDING IN BRITAIN United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, October 16. The tonnage of shipping under construction in Britain and Ireland on September 30, namely 604,296 tons, is nearly double the amount on September 30, 1933. The upward tendency is also maintained abroad, with 707.091 tons, according to “Lloyd’s Register,” including :
The motorships of the world are 764,090 tons, oil-tankers 324,712 tons.
