UNEMPLOYED BALLOT
NOMINATIONS CLOSE In consequence of the decision of the Timaru Unemployment Committee to provide for a ballot by relief workers to elect a representative of the unemployed on the committee, nominations for the office closed yesterday. The following have been nominated:— John Brennan, nominated by C. P. Gharteris and C. F, Stickings. G. T. Koller, nominated by P. H. Wild, A. Stowell, W. Forbes, M. Loper, C. L. Davis, J. Thomson, C. Smith, J. Gormley, J. Ruddle, J. McNair, F. Ellis, N. McPherson and J. Bell'. S. Lang, nominated by M. J. Dunne, A. H. Moore and L. Murray. The Certifying Officer (Mr G. McKessar) has given a certificate that each candidate is eligible, and the election will take place on September 27.
