Bradley, Mrs Barnard, Miss Grant, Miss Sullivan: emergencies: Mrs A. Bradley, Miss Wilson. The first rounds of men’s senior and junior and,women’s senior championships have been played with the following results:—
Men's senior: Moyes beat Tozer, Clark beat Malcolm, Washer beat Barnard, Mason beat Edyvean, Vesty beat O’Meeghan, Ross beat Bradley, I. J., Shillitto beat Arnold, Knight beat Ayres.
Men’s junior: Wallace beat Taylor, Killett beat Grant, McKitterick beat Turnbull by default, Reid, R. P. beat Simpson. Women’s: Mrs F. Cox beat Miss Lynn by default. Mrs Arnold beat Miss Grant, Miss Sullivan beat Mrs Washer. Miss Todd beat Mrs Kellett. In the semi-finals of the women’s junior championship Mrs Edyvean beat Miss Shivas, and Mrs Barnard beat Miss Wilson.
