CONTROL OF CRICKET.

DECISIONS OF IMPERIAL CONFERENCE. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph -Copyright LONDON, July 25. The Imperial Cricket Conference, Lord Cromer presiding, rejected Australia’s suggestion that an umpire should no-ball a bowler if he considers he is intimidating the basman, on the ground that it is impracticable. However, the conference unanimously passed the following resolution: That this conference affirms the principle already laid down by the M.C.C. that any form of bowling which is obviously a direct attack by a bowler upon a batsman is an offence against the spirit of the game. This conference is further of the opinion that the controlling bodies of cricket would not permit or countenance such a form of bowling.
