FLOODS IN KOREA
LOSS OF LIFE AND DAMAGE TO PROPERTY.
United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received July 25, 8.30 p.m.) TOKIO, July 25. The Korean floods have resulted in 61 being drowned and 4500 houses being destroyed. Renewed floods have occurred in west and central Japan. VISTULA BURSTS ITS BANKS WIDE AREA INUNDATED Unitea Press Association—By Electric Telegraph —Copyright WARSAW, July 24. The Vistula river burst the dykes near Andomiers and formed lakes 65 milps long and 30 miles wide. The flood waters inundated 52 villages and imperilled thousands of inhabitants. It is feared that there will be further loss of hundreds of lives. Military and civilian reinforcements have been dispatched to the scene. The rivers of the sub-Carpathian regions have also overflowed their banks. Seven villages Jiave been evacuated. SERIOUS FLOODS IN POLAND. TEACHER AND CLASS OVERWHELMED IN SCHOOL. The Warsaw correspondent of “The News-Chronicle” says that at least 300 more have perished at Sandomierz, including 20 children with their teacher, who were overwhelmed by the flood in the middle of school lessons. GRAVE FLOOD DISASTER BRITISH SYMPATHY EXTENDED British Official Wireless (Received July 25, 5.5 p.m.) RUGBY, July 24. The British Government, through the British Ambassador at Warsaw (Sir William Erskine), has expressed to the Polish Government and people the sympathy and sorrow with which the news of the grave flood disaster in Poland, entailing such a heavy loss of life, has been received in Gr>at Britain.
