In the game between the senior teams, Waimate attacked at the start but Egan saved. Several fine passing movements were then seen, Richardson sending his backs awary repeatedly, but good tackling held the movements up. From the drop out Phillips, Rathgen and Balfour brothers headed a rush to past halfway where O. Balfour had a shot from a penalty which missed. From a scrum Richardson sent to Veitch to Bendall to O’Sullivan whose pass went astray. A moment later Veitch broke through and short punted. O’Sullivan pulled the movement up with a fine tackle. From a scrum O’Sullivan (St. Kevin’s) dived over for a good try which Higgins failed to convert. Higgins had a shot from a penalty shortly after the drop out but O.
