BISHOP BARNES’S PROPOSAL. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph —Copyright LONDON, June 24. “As far as such action depended on ourselves, I would restore Germany’s colonies,’’ declared Bishop Barnes, in a sermon in connection with the National Peace Congress at Birmingham. He emphasised an ardent desire for universal disarmament, and added if such attempts failed, he would have Britain disarm, and trust for safety to the policy of international righteousness. *T would give India self-government, withdrawing all control, except for the maintenance of order during the transition period.”
