Dominion Meteorologist. General situation. —An anti-cyclone of moderate intensity now covers New Zealand; a cyclonic depression is developing off the coast of New South Wales. Winds—Light to moderate and variable but northerlies gradually predominating and later freshening. Seas (New Zealand waters) —Smooth to moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea —Moderate but freshening north-east to northerly winds and smooth to moderate, but rising seas. Weather—Fine in most districts with cold night but milder day temperatures; a few scattered showers are likely, however, in the extreme south. Mr F. L. Wocles. Wind—Light and variable. Weather —Fine. Outlook for week ending July 2 Wind mainly easterly to . southerly; weather mainly fair during the period; an occasional shower likely during the latter part. Conditions In Timaru. Following a frost of 12 degrees, Timaru enjoyed perfect weather yesterday. In the late afternoon conditions became cold, however, and last night the sky was overcast.
