ST. VINCENT DE PAUL SOCIETY
ANNUAL BALL. This year the annual ball of the St Vincent de Paul Society promises to be an even greater success than last year. The sum of over £l5O was raised and utilised for the relief of distress on that occasion, and it is confidently expected that this year's function will realiße a like amount. The several committees are working assiduously with this object in view, every little detail receiving careful attention. Small card evenings, socials, concerts and competitions have been organised to collect sufficient money to cover all expenses in connection w-ith the ball. These are proving successful and the committee aims to use ail proceeds for the sale of tickets for the relief of distress. The whole east wing of the hall will be transformed into a luxurious lounge, and the “charity” supper will be served in the Bay Tea Rooms. Sinclair’s Augmented Orchestra has been engaged and the latest and brightest music will be played. Tickets are now available from members of the committee, and intending patrons are urged to make their purchase:: early.
