PILIGRIMAGE OF ENGLISH CATHEDRALS. UNIQUE MONEY RAISING SCHEME British Official Wireless (Received June 18, 5.5 p.m.) RUGBY, June 16. The King and Queen will attend the special service at Westminster Abbey on July 1, when a scheme for a “pilgrimage” to Britain’s cathedrals, the purpose of which is to raise funds for the unemployed in distressed areas, will be inaugurated. The pilgrimage, the idea of which originated with the Dean of Canterbury, will last a fortnight, and tickets costing 2/6 will be sold to pilgrims, who will see the cathedrals under special circumstances.
