Mr H. Fell (Sydney) is visiting Timaru, and is at the Grosvenor. Mr O. W. Collings (Templeton) is staying at the Grand. Mr J. Keasing (Christchurch), is a guest at the Dominion. Messrs T. T. Gough, J. Pellam (Christchurch), and W. Saunders (Dunedin), are registered at the Empire. Recent arrivals at the Grosvenor include: Messrs C. K. Taylor, N. D. Bowman, S. P. Dalton, W. Sellars, H. Arrowsmith (Christchurch), W. M. Hanna, E. Fuller, G. Austad, A. Cunningham (Wellington), and A. Millward (Wanganui). An official wireless message from Rugby announces that the Prime Minister (Mr Ramsay MacDonald) arrived at Lossiemouth on Thursday afternoon by aeroplane from Hendon. The journey occupied four hours actual flying time in a stormy northwest wind. Sympathy with Mr A. E. Dobson, a member of the South Canterbury executive of the Farmers’ Union, in his recent serious accident, was expressed at yesterday’s meeting. Mr W. Buchanan reported that Mr Dobson was making good progress. Members expressed a hope that Mr Dobson would soon be restored to health. An official wireless message from Rugby announces that Mr Alan Cuthbert Maxwell Bums, Deputy-Chief Secretary of Nigeria, has been appointed Governor of British Honduras, in succession to Sir Harold Kittermaster, who was recently appointed Governor of Nyasaland.
