TRAMPER MISSING
NOW EIGHT DAYS OVERDUE. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, May 17. Anxiety is being felt for the safety of Alfred Young, of Ghuznee Street, Wellington, who arranged to meet friends at Kaitoke on May 9 after a tramp through the rough country cf the Tararua Ranges about the Waiohine and Tauherenikau Valleys, but who has not yet been heard of. Young, who is 22 years of age and who is said to be an experienced tramper, set out on April 26 with the intention of going ovsr the grounds for which he has a trapping license. He had food sufficient for 14 days. He told his friends that he might be a day or two late, but, as he is now eight days overdue, they are afraid that he may be lost or has met with an The weather has been bad in the Tararuas recently and snow has fallen.
