PARLIAMENT ON EVE OF ADJOURNMENT.
British Official Wireless (Received March 27, 5.5 p.m.)
RUGBY, March 26. Parliament adjourns on Thursday for a brief Easter recess . Meanwhile two Bills of importance will be presented before the House of Commons adjourns. The Road Traffic Bill will be introduced by the Minister of Transport (Major Oliver Stanley) to-day and tomorrow. A Bill based on the report of the Royal Commission on Lotteries and Betting will be presented in the House of Lords.
The Road Traffic Bill represents the first step in the big campaign to reduce the number of road accidents in the country. The assistance of newspapers, films, and the broadcasting service will be enlisted in this task, and to-morrow the campaign will be briefed in the broadcasting programme when Major Stanley will make a t '*^eech. The subjects which are to be raised on the motion for adjournment in the House of Commons on Thursday will be decided by the Labour Party at its meeting to-day. It was originally intended to raise the disarmament question, but it is probable that, pending further developments in this matter, it has been considered advisable to devote the debate to other matters.
