STOCK FROM BRITAIN
LIFTING OF EMBARGO WANTED.. By Telegraph—Press Association PALMERSTON NORTH, March 27. Without dissent, the Council of the New Zealand Pig Breeders’ Association decided to urge the authorities to lift the embargo on the importation of stock from Britain. Members criticised methods by which animals were shipped to Canada and then sent on to New Zealand. A letter was received from the Ryeland Sheep Society of New Zealand, asking support for a request to the Government to permit one shipment of stock each year from Britain. The Association expressed the view that it would be just as well to allow all kinds of animals to be imported.
