The “Daily Telegraph" says: Mr Walter Elliott (Secretary of Agriculture) is consulting the Dominion Government “regarding the dumping of Dominion products” a breach of the Ottawa agreements, of which British agriculturists are complaining.” Mr Elliot revealed the fact that these negotiations are afoot to a private meeting of the Conservative Agriculture Committee of the House of Commons to-night, and the meat and milk producers particularly affected. It was stated at the meeting that New Zealand butter was selling in Britain at 7d. while the price in New Zealand w'as 1 3. Mr Elliot admitted that the wholesale price of beef was still far below remunerative levels, but he hoped shortly to arrive at a new voluntary arrangement to ease the position. The meeting appointed a committee to report on meat imports.
