STABBING AFFRAY
WATERSIDER ARRESTED. By Telegraph Press Association WELLINGTON, December 12. A dispute between two men on the Wahine at 8 a.m. to-day ended in David Stewart, a watersider, receiving a severe knife wound in the left arm. He was admitted to hospital. Arrested later in the morning. Hubert Frederick Hilton Shepperd (52), a watersider, of Lower Hutt. appeared before Mr W. F. Stillwell, S.M.. charged with assault so as to cause bodily harm and was remanded until December 20. Mr Mazengarb, who appeared for accused. said that he was spoken of as one of the best men on the waterfront. Accused had been struck on the head and his opponent had received a wound on the arm with a knife which accused was carrying
