EXPENDITURE ON NEW VILLAS By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, December 12. Replying to the discussion on the report of the Mental Hospitals Department in the House to-day, the Hon. J. A. Young said that the policy of the Government was to speed up the provision of the requisite accommodation to overcome over-crowding. There were at present villas under construction at various places, and when these were completed they would provide accommodation for 300 patients. Provision had been mad' 1 for several more in next year’s building programme, and arrangements had been made with the Treasury to provide £90,000 spread over three years for capital expenditure on mental hospitals.
