GRANT’S HILL SUBSTATION
DECISION OF TOWER BOARD. “That this Board, if guaranteed by the Public Works Department against any additional expenditure in connection therewith, will consent to the removal of the Grant's Hill Sub-station.” The above recommendation followed a brief report to yesterday's meeting of the South Canterbury Power Board, by the Finance Committee. The report stated that the committee had received a deputation consisting of Mr F. T. M. Kissel, chief electrical engineer, Public Works Department, Wellington, Mr McGibbon, district electrical engineer, Public Works Department. Christchurch, the Mayor of Timaru (Mr T. W. Satterthwaite), and Borough Councillors, and discussed the question of the removal of the Grant's Hill Sub-station. The recommendation was adopted without discussion.
