The Rata arrived from Westport yesterday, and after discharging a quantity of coal, sailed at night for Lyttelton. The Opihi loaded general cargo for Wellington, Nelson and New Plymouth at Timaru yesterday, and sailed for Lyttelton. The Holmdale, which arrived on Sunday, sailed from Tynaru yesterday wdth Wellington, Picton and Wanganui cargo. It is expected that the Waimarino will be here to-night from Oamaru to pick up general Wellington and Auckland cargo. The Storm, on the Wellington and Wanganui run, is due to-day from the south. Narbada Leaves Calcutta. The Narbada has left Calcutta en route for Singapore, Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, Timaru, Dunedin, and Bluff. She is due to arrive at Auckland on January 4. Talnui For Auokland. Tire Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company’s steamer Tainui expects to arrive at Auckland at daybreak on Monday from England via Panama. Baroona For Norfolk Island. The reconstructed motor vessel Baroona is to sail from Auckland for Nor folk Island about the end of the week. The vessel’s future movements after she returns to Auckland have not been announced. Kartigi’s Transhipments. The Kartigi, due at Timaru on December 16, will have transhipments ex the following steamers: —Oronsay, Nieuw Holland, Monte Piana, Rendsburg, and Chindwara Maru. PERSONAL. Captain R. M. Kane has returned to the command of the Tamahine, replacing Captain W. A. Gray. Captain S. Holm has relieved Captain A. Copland as master of the Holmdale. Captain J. Bruce Is now in command of the Kaimiro, relieving Captain A. S. Dalgleish. Mr M. M. McArthur has joined the Holmdale as first mate, relieving Mr H. S. S. Curtiss. Mr L, Reid is relieving Mr N. L.
