RIFLE SHOOTING
TIMASU DEFENCE CLUB. On Saturday afternoon the Timaru Defence Rifle Club fired the tenth match of the season. The conditions were 10 shots at 500 and 900 yards. The day was fine. At 500 yards the shooting was good but at 900 the mirage was bad and upset a lot of calculations. The president addressed the members, reminding them of the Canterbury Meeting at Christchurch on Boxing Day, also the old veterans’ match next Saturday when the ranges will be 300, 500 and 600 yards. The old Volunteers’ Cup will also be fired for at the same time. The following were
