HANDSOME SURPLUS
SOUND STATE OF UNEMPLOYMENT INSURANCE FUND. British Official Wireless (Received October 20. 5.5 p.m.) RUGBY. October 19. A surplus of £3,497,000 Is shown in the accounts of the Unemployment Insurance Fund, for the first six months of the current financial year. The income, which is derived from contributions frQm the employers, employed and the Exchequer, amounted during the half-year to £30,737,000, and the expenditure to £27,240.000.
