SUCCESS OF DARING EXPERIMENT.
CONFOUNDS AVIATION EXPERTS. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received October 20, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, October 20. The King at Sandringham was informed of the success of C. P. Ulm, whose English friends are delighted at the achievement as demonstrating the practicability of Anglo-Australian flights within a week. The flight vindicates Mr Ulm’s skill and daring in increasing the wing length by sft, adding lifting power and giving an additional range of 400 miles, without In the slightest Impairing efficiency and speed. The success of such a revolutionary experiment amazed the builders. Mr C. A. C. Scott (former holder of the recArd) and others are eulogistic but agree that the flight Is not quite comparable to Sir Charles Kingsford Smith’s solo effort.
