THE ORPHANAGES' APPEAL.
To the Editor of ** The Timaru Herald ’’ Sir,—On behalf of the South Canterbury orphanages, I desire to express very sincere appreciation of the magnificent publicity given to our work in to-day’s issue of your paper. One realises that the space allocated is extremely valuable, and measured by that standard, the gift is magnificent. If Friday’s endeavour is given support in any way proportionate to your donation, the result of the collection should be extremely gratifying to all concerned. We would take this opportunity of expressing our earnest thanks to those ladies and gentlemen who have undertaken the extremely arduous work of collecting. On behalf of the Salvation Army Boys’ Home. Presbyterian Children’s Home, S. Saviour’s Boys’ Home. C. G. BRYAN KING. Timaru, October 19.
