THE WEATHER
Mr F. L. Wooles. Wind—Moderate to strong westerly to southerly ruling. Weather—lsolated showers are likely, but mainly fair. Dominion Meteorologist. General situation—A moderate anticyclone covers the Tasman Sea, but a rather deep depression is crossing southern New Zealand. Winds—North westerlies prevailing in parts of the eastern districts, elsewhere west to south-west; moderate to strong generally, and of gale force at times from Cook Strait southwards. Seas (New Zealand waters)—Rough south of Cape Egmont and about Cook and Foveaux Straits, elsewhere moderate. Eastern Tasman Sea—Moderate to fresh south-westerly winds; seas rough in the southern portion, elsewhere moderate. Weather Changeable in districts with a westerly aspect and On parts of the East Coast from Banks Peninsula southwards, with scattered showers; elsewhere fair to fine; temperatures cool, some frosts inland in the South Island.
