CONTROL OF DANCE HALLS.
Sir —Because I quoted from personal knowledge of the result of liquor at dance halls (gained through attending dances throughout this Dominion and once or twice In other Dominions, for the past ten years), in reply to “Moral Uplifter,” your correspondent “Honour” has become rather upset because he thinks I gained all that knowledge In Fairlie. and so by quoting it, X have passed a slur on the Fairlie youths. He thinks that the Fairlie Women’s Institute should have me courtmartlalled and shot at dawn, because they had a dance once. X hope it will relieve “Honour's'' mind to know that although Fairlie is. without doubt, an important centre of this Dominion, I have only been here about three months, and I was not reflecting on this district. I have only been to two or three dances here and to help "Honour" in his or her attempt to uphold the respect of his or her fellow-citizens, I will add that those two or three dances were quite respectable.—l am, ONE WHO FREQUENTS DANCES.
