BURIED UNDER SLIP
RELIEF WORKER KILLED By TelegrapL—Press Association WELLINGTON, October 16. After being partly extricated from beneath one slip that had come down on him on the Akatarawa Road this afternoon, a relief worker was caught by a second fall of earth and completely buried. Rescue efforts were unavailing, and the body was recovered after three-quarters of an hour's work. The victim of the accident was Ronald Norling, 22, who resided at 125 Kelbum Parade. Norling and two companions from the Akatarawa camp were working at the foot of a steep embankment. A slip came down without warning. His companions managed to evade the falling metal, but Norling was not so fortunate. His workmates then tried to get him out, and had nearly succeeded when the second slip came down and completely buried him.
