“STARS” FROM ENGLAND TO-MORROW’S EXHIBITION GAMES The appearance of England's leading tennis players in Timaru to-mor-row, is arousing much interest. Already many seats have been booked and patrons wishing to obtain a seat are advised to place their bookings immediately. F. J. Perry, the all American amateur tennis champion, and second on the world's ranking list, is undoubtedly the greatest draw in the tennis world to-day. His team-mates are H. G. N. Lee and F. H. D. Wilde, and the trio should prove to be one of the strongest combinations of tennis stars that has ever visited New Zealand. C. E. Angas, who will complete the team visiting Timaru, is known to all, and is reported to be playing good tennis. Timaru is indeed fortunate in possessing the grass courts on Maori Hill, and the court which has been prepared for the games is in good condition. The Englishmen arrived in New Zealand yesterday and will come south immediately, arriving in Timaru tomorrow morning by the express. The Association has all arrangements well in hand. The courts are well sheltered in case of wind and no effort is being spared by the committee to ensure that the large attendance which is expected will be fully catered for.
