The play was very even, there being little between the teams, but Otago had the better finish near the circle. There was no score at the end of a strenuously contested first spell. Otago were more agressive in the second half, and Miss L. Vidal opened their score, rushing in to goal from a scramble. Shortly after, the same player with a brilliant shot from the edge of the circle scored again. She was the outstanding player. The match in section C between Manawatu and Wairarapa A produced an uninteresting standard of hockey. Miss M. Kearns scored for the winners. Eastern, with a team at full strength, redeemed itself by beating Bush 3-0, after a very exciting game. The forwards were very aggressive and combined in some brilliant movements. Eastern's first score came from a penalty on the twenty-five line, F. Allen hitting strongly to K. Bond, who netted from the edge of the circle. Before half-time sounded, Miss M. White, by brilliant play burst through the defence to score again for Eastern.
