RANGITATA
HARE DRIVES. Under the management of the Rangitata Miniature Rifle Club a haredrive was held at Rangitata. A large tract of country was shot over, and as hares were plentiful a good day’s sport was enjoyed. The bag for the day counted 130 hares. Luncheon was provided by the ladies of the district. A fine day, with beautiful sunshine, added to the enjoyment of a hare drive, held at Orton, in aid of the school funds. The bag for the day amounted to 70 hares. SCHOOL SOCIAL. The fortnightly social under the auspices of the Rangitata School Committee, proved very successful. Winners of the competitions were Mr Hayes (Geraldine), and Mr H. K. McClelland. After supper, dancing was indulged in to music supplied by local players Mr J. Watts acted as M.C.
