ROMNEY MARSH BREED
QUESTION OF SIZE. The size of Romney Marsh sheep was discussed at the annual meeting of the breed society in England. Mr. Egerton Quested sa:d he had talked to several London butchers about it, and they agreed that, though the sheep were all right, the size was too large for pre-sent-day requirements. He suggested that the association might instruct judges at shows not to pay too much attention to the big sheep, but to give preference to the compact, kindly sheep which was go ng to mature early. Mr. Quested added that he thought the association might usefully encourage breeders of the Romney to add a little more quality and not so much quantity.
