FIRED BY LIGHTNING
DALLINGTON FAMILY’S HOME DAMAGED. By Teleg-aph—Press Association CHRISTCHURCH. June 8. A house in Dallington. occupied by Mr C. Watson and family, was struck and set afire by lightning during the height of Tuesday evening’s storm. The occupants were abed at the time. The front v/ndows were blown out and the lightning set a bolster afire on the bed where TTr and Mrs Watson were sleeping. They had a terrifying experience, but the daughter secured the help of two linesmen working at the sub-station nearby, who put the fire out. The switch gear of the sub-station was also damaged.
