CHINESE GAMING HOUSE. By Telegraph,—Press Association WELLINGTON, June 8. As - result of police raids yesterday, eight Europeans were each fined £3 and costs 10/- to-day for being unlawfully on premises used as a common gaming house. Charges against nine Chinese were remanded on the application of the appearing counsel, who said he had not had time to go fully into the matter. WELLINGTON SESSION. By Telegraph—Press Association WELLINGTON, June 8. Mr Justice MacGregor sentenced prisoners as follows: — Claude Frederick Mallard, breaking, entering and theft, convicted and ordered to come up if called within two years, and pay the costs of the prosecution. Martin Carr breaking entering and theft, 18 months’ imprisonment. John Laine, indecent assault on a male, four charges, two years’ imprisonment. Albert Durant, creaking, entering and theft, 18 months' imprisonment.
