ORARI BRIDGE
GIFT AFTERNOON. An enjoyable afternoon was spent at the residence of Mr and Mrs John South, Orari Bridge, when a number of friends assembled to express to Miss Mary South their good wishes on the occasion of her approaching marriage. Mrs F. Pratt, on behalf of the visitors, wished Miss South every happiness, and presented her with a number of useful gifts. Miss South suitably replied. Mrs South expressed her appreciation of the visitors’ kindness. LADIES’ MINIATURE RIFLE CLUB. At the annual meeting of the Orari Bridge Ladies’ Miniature Rifle Club, Miss Wordsworth presided over a failattendance. The report and balance sheet were read, and a substantal credit balance was shown. The following officers were elected: —President, Mrs Wordsworth (reelected) ; captain, Miss J. McLean (reelected) ; secretary, Mrs P. E. South (re-elected); committee, Mesdames Pratt and Ivey, and Misses T. and C. Rule and O. Ford.
