AUCKLAND ACTION “HIGHHANDED.” By Telegranh—Press Association INVERCARGILL. May 8. The Southland Motor Association to-night decided to support the action of the South Island Motor Union in cooperating with the North Island Union for the purpose of taking action to prevent the alteration of the Association’s or Clubs’ name without authority. The Union’s resolution followed a discussion on the proposal of the Auckland Automobile Association to change its name to the Automobile Association. The president (Mr D. J. Wesney) said he was in favour of supporting Christchurch motorists who had formed a New Zealand Automobile Association. He added that the action of the Auckland body seemed to be a very high-handed one. Dr. Stanley Brown said he considered the North Island Union also acted in a high-handed way in demanding an explanation from the Auckland body.
