DRUIDS V. ODDFELLOWS. Playing at Temuka on Thursday afternoon in a return cricket match the Druids were successful in revenging their last week’s defeat at the hands of the Oddfellows. Druids won the toss but the opening batsmen failed to get going. L. McLaughlin capturing three wickets when 13 runs were on the sheet. W. Mclnnes played a fine innings for 39 which included six boundaries. The other batsmen offered little opposition, and the innings closed for 66. Oddfellows opened their innings disastrously losing five wickets for six runs. D. Sugrue 5 and B. McLaughlin 4 were the highest scorers and the innings closed for 14. Following on, the Oddfellows, thanks to 35 by T. McLaughlin which included five boundary hits, scored 74 runs. The Druids requiring 23 to win, C. Higginbottom and W. Mclnnes quickly hit off the required number of runs and retired. The rest of the batsmen went in for a hit and an interesting game resulted in a win for the Druids by 28 runs.
