AMUSEMENTS

"SLEEPLESS NIGHTS.” HUMOUR AT THE MAJESTIC. The large audience at the Majestic on Saturday night could not do other than appreciate the infectious humour contained in "Sleepless Nights,” the British picture that has broken records wherever it has been shown. Stanley Lupino and Polly Walker are responsible for most of the fun. Polly plays the role of a millionaire's daughter who elopes with one man and marries another. The first is an adventurer and the second is Stanley Lupino, and as the latter is mistaken for Polly's husband long before the ceremony takes place, the result is a hilarious matrimonial mix-up. In addition to its musical appeal, “Sleepless Nights” Is definitely a “film to see.” The direction of Thomas Bentley, the first-class fooling of the inimitable Stanley Lupino, the charm of Polly Walker, a first-class supporting cast including Gerald Rawlinson, Percy Parsons and Hal Gordon; land the dancing ensembles arranged by Ralph Reeder, all combine to make this picture one of the most piquant and Irresistible of all musical comedy romances. The supporting programme is full of interest.
