NEED FOR MASTERY OF ENGLISH BOWLING. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright (Received December 24, 1.25 a.m.) LONDON, December 23. Newspapers are beginning to locus attention on the Second Test in Australia.
“The Daily Express” says that it is the business of the Australian batsmen to find a way of combating the deliveries of Larwood and Voce. One would think that Woodful, Ponsford and the rest knew all there was to be known about bowling. The writer believes that they do and that the Sydney failures were due to England’s bowling being at the peak of its form, and to the surprising timidity of the batting.
