CHRISTMAS SERVICES. Christmas services will be conducted by Rev. A. Begs;, at St. Paul's Presbyterian Church Highfield. and at Rosewill to-morrow. The Communion will be dispensed at Rosewill. Miss Dorothy Sligo of Dunedin, will sing at the evening service, and the choir will render some carols.

Miss Evelyn Shepard, of Dunedin, I will be the soloist at Woodlands Road 1 Church on Sunday evening, with Mr J. j Davies also of Dunedin, Mrs Jenkins 1 being the morning soloist. Appropriate t anthems will be rendered by the choir | at both services, and Miss Raida j Harvey will recite “The Inn of Life” in ; the evening.

Christmas services will be conducted on Sunday in Chalmers Church by the Rev. P. Gladstone Hughes. Carols will be rendered by the choir at both services. The subject of the morning address will be: “O rest beside the weary road and hear the angels sing.” The evening address will be on “The Challenge of Christmas.” Mr D. McInies will sing by request, “The Holy City.” The evening anthem will be “While Shepherds Watched Their Flocks.”

Christmas hymns, anthems, and messages wall feature the services at the Baptist Churchy Wilson Street, tomorrow. The Rev. C. W. Duncumb will occupy the pulpit at both servi;es. The Lord’s Supper will fallow the evening service. Visitors are cordially invited. The services on Christmas Day in St. Mary’s Parish will be as follows: Holy Communion will be celebrated at St. Mary’s at 6 a.m., 7 a.m., 8 a.m., and 12 noon; at St. John’s at 8 a.m., at St. Peter’s and All Saints at 7 a.m., and at St. Michael’s 9.30 a.m. Matins will be held at St. Mary’s, and St. John’s at 11 a.m. Evensong will be at St.Mary’s, St. Peter's and All Saints at 6.30.

Special Christmas services will be conducted in Trinity Presbyterian Church, with anthems by the junior girls’ choir and the senior choir in the morning. At the evening service appropriate music by the junior boys’ choir and the senior choir. Mrs L. A. Waters will sing “Come Unto Him” (from “Messiah”). After the evening service, as has been customary for the past few years, special carols will be given by the boys’ and senior choirs. Christmas services will be held in the Congregational Church, North Street. The evening service will be choral, with carols and anthems by the choir. The soloists will be Mr and Mrs Bischlager and Miss Phyllis Round, all of Christchurch. Both services will be conducted by the Rev. J. Milburn Stewart, and Miss Mabel Tubb, L.T.C.L., L.A.8., will preside at the organ. Visitors to Timaru will find a welcome.

A special series of Christmas services will be conducted at the Salvation Army. Corps Sergt-Major Duffell will direct the 11 a.m. service. Adjutant Chas. A. Thomas will speak at the 7 p.m. service. (Subject “The Sign Infallible.”) Visitors and old friends invited. The Rev. Harold T. Peat will conduct Christmas services in Banks Street Methodist Church to-morrow. The first service will be held at 8 a.m. The subject at 11 a.m. will be “The Incarnation of the Word.” At 6.30 p.m. the theme will be “God's Answer to the World’s Need.” During the evening service Mrs J. M. Jenkins will sing “Beyond the Dawn.” The Rev. T. H. Carr will conduct the morning service at Woodlands Street, the soloist being Mrs J. M. Jenkins. In the evening the Rev. H. L. Fiebig will be the preacher, the soloists being Miss E. Shepard and Mr J. Davies. Visitors are cordially invited to all services.
