The Water Board figures of new buildings erected in the City and suburbs during the current year show that the slump, which was in evidence during 1931, continued during the first six months of the current year, but there has been an upward tendency of recent months.
The returns show that 1443 new buildings were erected at a cost of £1,866,472 this year, compared with 1621 new buildings, costing £1,792,145, in 1931.
