DOG GIVES WARNING
SAVES THREE LIVES AND LOSES OWN. | By Telegraph—Press Association NEW PLYMOUTH, December 22. Warned by the anxious whining of a dog, Mr J. R. Hansen's household at Okato awakened to find the house in flames. They had only time to snatch bed clothes and leave the fiercely burning building. The fire also swept several farm buildings. The faithful dog who probably saved j three lives, met a cruel fate. Mi' HanI sen was returning from telephoning to { the insurance company, which held a ! policy for £550, when the motor-car ' ran over the dog and killed it. Mr Hansen recently voluntarily reduced the insurance on his furniture.
