DUCHESS AS A COOK.
The Belgian Royal Family is very domesticated, but even Princess Marie Jose is not so expert as the Duchess of Brabant, who, before her marrigae to the heir to the Belgian Throne, was Princess Astrid of Sweden.
A military friend of the Duke once complained that he could have no dinner, for his cook had left suddenly. The Duke commiserated with him. but added, “If such a thing happened to me my wife would cook the dinner. In fact, she often does.”
