PRINCESS ROYAL.

VALUABLES IN SAFE. REMOVAL TO NEW HOUSE. LONDON, January 12. The Princess Royal’s huge five and a-quarter ton, burglar-proof, casehardened steel safe, capable of holding six men, was to-day swung out of a top-floor window of Chesterfield House. The Earl of Harewood and his wife have sold this residence for reasons of economy. The safe will be conveyed to the new town house in Green Street, which the Queen bought last year. The safe contains Princess Mary’s jewels, plate and other property, valued at thousands of pounds. Only she knows the combination of the lock, and she always opens and closes it herself.
