FORCED LANDING. ’PLANE DAMAGED. By Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, July 5. One of the Auckland Aero Club’s Moth ’splanes, piloted by J. M. Stevenson, made a forced landing through engine trouble between Wellsford and Warkworth j'esterday afternoon. Both wings of the ’plane and the propeller were damaged, but the pilot and a woman passenger escaped injury The ’plane was being flown from Whangarei to Auckland, and a landing was made on a small clearing, the only suitable spot for several miles, the country being bush-clad and hilly. MISSED LANDING PLACE. By Telegraph—Press Association DANNEVIRKE, July 5. An unexpected aerial visitor arrived on Saturday just before dusk—a Rotorua Airways Gipsy moth, piloted by Flying-Officer Money, with Dr Hay (Rotorua) as passenger. The ’plane left Rotorua at 2.45 for Masterton. A heavy south-westerly impeded progress. Unacquainted with the aerodrome south of the town, the pilot made a forced landing without mishap just before dusk in a paddock northwards of the showgrounds.
